The Convictions which fuel our commitment

We believe that the condition of the Church in the United States has reached a point of spiritual crisis. In the preface to his classic Spirit of the Disciplines, Dallas Willard states
“Multitudes are now turning to Christ in all parts of the world. How unbearably tragic it would be, though, if the millions of Asia, South America and Africa were led to believe that the best we can hope for from The Way of Christ is the level of Christianity visible in Europe and America today” (xii).

God is faithful to his people. Many times in the Word of God, we find promises that indicate His willingness to revive His people when they call upon Him. Perhaps 2 Chronicles 7.14 is the best known. Here the Father says that “
if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”.

The Lord promises that He will not forsake those who seek after Him (Psalm 9.10) and that those who seek after Him will lack no good thing (Psalm 34.10). It is however the words of Jesus which inspire us to intense prayer; “
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11.13)

We believe that God has worked to bring this group of churches together for this purpose. However, we also believe that it is the Father’s heart to bless and renew His bride throughout this entire region, and even beyond. We believe that God wants to gather a unified voice of Christians who mourn the condition of the Church and desperately want to see it renewed.
